C-17s in Largest Formation Ever

17 C-17's (nice number) flew in formation for the largest formation of C-17s ever. They can be seen flying over Charleston's beautiful new bridge (which I haven't seen yet) which is also impressive.

The 17 is quite a bird to fly on, as I've enjoyed a couple of times now...

During this flight, they practiced several of the 17's missions, including air drops, tactical landings, and refuelings.

Nice.

No wonder I cannot get any wide body aircraft to move priority Navy cargo on Navy validated channels. They are all too busy doing stupid USAF publicity stunts.......

But hey, its a great way of life.
AMC, when there is not a chance of it getting there on time!

Um, Skippy-San? It was a TRAINING mission. Downtown Charleston was the starting point (sort of like a rally marker). So they happened to be caught on camera by a civilian (it's not an official USAF photo) as they flew over Charleston's most visible landmark...

Now that's a lot of big birds!

At least the pilots didn't get excited and try to go *under* the bridge.
