So far on this trip, we've gone to Outback (YUM!), Applebee's, Wendy's (Don't laugh), and even Ryan's. Now, many of you may not have a Ryan's in your town, but I bet that there is something akin to it.
The reason we wanted Ryan's was because we've been craving a good-ole-fashioned American salad bar.
Now, Ryan's has a salad bar. It's a huge, beautiful salad bar. It's also the type of restaurant that has the "Mega-Bar" which is a huge buffet.
Our observations are the type of folks who seem to frequent this type of restaurant because you can get an all-you-can eat buffet for just a few dollars.
Some possible advertising slogans for Ryan's are:
- Can't Hardly Walk? Well, Shuffle On Over to Our Mega-Bar!
- Miss Prison Food? Come On Over to Ryan's!
- Our Folks Are Just a Few Hours Short of Being On the Five O'Clock News!
Anyway, great food, but... quite a neat glimpse...

Sounds wonderful - I haven't decided what to eat for supper yet & you're not helping! I'd be heading for all the seafood places first, then maybe Outback & I enjoy Ryans, too. Every one I've ever been in has been really busy, so lots of people like Ryans. Enjoy, but don't forget you're working toward skinny :)
No Ryans in Ohio, well not in Cleveland anyway. We do have several all you can eat places. People pretty much the same. And hey, won't be too much longer, Thomas will be fully mobile and you will really be getting some running in, so enjoy.
Assuming you've had anytime at all to keep up with news/blogs...whatcha think of Joel Stein's comments? Hewitt took care of him very nicely, though Uncle Jimbo at Blackfive was much more fun to read.
I LOVE Outback! I can see getting cravings for food when you've been away for so long. Your description of the Ryan's patrons is hilarious!
