Information Needed

I've been trying to view the website for the Marine Barracks in DC. It doesn't load.

Can anyone (a) get the website to load or (b) alternatively find the information I seek? That info is:

All info related to viewing the Friday Night Parades at the Barracks.

Thanks in advance.

(Edit: I have the info, now... however, there's a nice discussion going on in the Comments section...)

I can open without a problem. They have an info about the evening and sunset parades.

I can get to the site, but I cannot go any further. I left a comment with your URL asking them to assist you. I hope they can get you what you want.

How are you doing? I pray you are well. Take care.

Good job Rosemary. I tried cutting and pasting, but it wouldn't let me.

Reid, (and everybody else visiting here) question, if you only had one day to spend in D.C....what would you go to see?

Judging from some e-mailed comments... many seem surprised that I cannot load it whilst so many of you can.

Why is that?

Well, many sites that are .mil block access to people from overseas. Any guess as to my current location? Hahaha... yes, makes it difficult to access many .mil and .gov sites.

One of the lil' quirks...

To MaryAnn:
I suppose the answer would depend upon one's focus...

For example, for one who's civic minded, I'd recommend watching the House and/or Senate from the galleries, and a visit to the National Archives (which I consider a pilgrimmage stop anyway).

Perhaps you're more culturally minded and find all that "government" mumbo-jumbo mind-numbing... it takes a day, so I'd say the Smithsonian Museum of American History. Time permitting, I'd then swing by the Air & Space Museum (those who know me are probably in shock on the order of that one.)

Perhaps you're more historically minded? There's the marathon monument tour... I find the Jefferson Memorial particularly mesmerizing. Next, I'd visit the Washington Monument, the Korean War Memorial, the Viet Nam Memorial, and then drive over to Arlington Cemetary.

For night-time, on any of these, you'd need to visit the Kennedy Center.

Also, a drive around town.

A meal should be grabbed in the Old Post Office.

All of that said... trying to visit DC in one day is, in my mind, borderline criminal. There are so many layers to peel in DC... I've been many times and feel anything less than a week will leave a visitor feeling unfulfilled at the end. Why? Because, when you're in DC, you'll discover so many other things you didn't even know was there, and then you'll feel frustrated that you can't squeeze it all in...

They just opened a new section in the Air & Space Museum - "hands on" for children. Adam - 6 y. - liked it so much we had to come back the next day :-)
And we had to see baby Panda...
